Construction Information Service

I wanted to remind you that we do subscribe to the Construction Information Service. It is available from the A to Z list of Databases - see link below.

http://www.uel.ac.uk/lls/resources/databaselistc.htm

You will need an Athens account for both on campus and off campus access. It contains documents from RIBA, BRE, SEI, TRADA, ISS and others.

Museum of London, Docklands

We had a library planning day at the Museum of London, Docklands yesterday. It is an excellent source of information regarding the history of the Docklands. There is an archive which charts the development and activity of the docks, port and river from 1770 onwards, including trading, industrial relations, river management and docklands regeneration. The archive features over 40,000 photographys of the port and has 10,000 books on port history. There is also a collection of technical drawings. Unfortunately, there is no searchable catalogue at the moment but the archivist would be happy to help students with their projects or even arrange special visits for groups.

Dear Colleagues
We have a new electronic resource (purchased by the Business School!) which may be of use to Fashion students.
Euromonitor offers a subscription to Passport GMID which gives library users unlimited access to a vast market research resource via a single web platform:
8 million internationally comparable statistics
18,000 full-market company and country reports
Comment on emerging industry, country and consumer trends from expert analysts Thousands of sources providing further research information Powerful data analysis functions.
It is accessible through our list of databases on the library homepage.

I will definitely demo it to the students during inductions.
